Ben Alderman - H: 3-5ft, W: 3-5ft, Sun: Part to full, Fruit: Medium size tart black berries that ripen in July. Note: Partially self-pollinating but should be planted with another black currant variety for best pollination, Zone: 3-8. 

 

Ben Lamond - H: 4 -5ft, W: 4-5ft, Sun: Part of full, Fruit: Large tart berries that ripen in mid-July, Note: A commercial Scottish variety that is good for cross pollinating other currants, Zone: 3-7. 

 

Ben Sarek - H: 3-5ft, W: 3-5ft, Sun: Part to full, Fruit: Large tart, flavorful berries that ripen in July. Note: Variety developed in Scotland and is frost and mildew resistant. Partially self-pollinating but should be planted with another black currant variety for best pollination, Zone: 3-7. 

 

Black Combe - H: 3-6ft, W: 3-6ft, Sun: Part to full, Fruit: Large tart, black berries that ripen in July. Note: Partially self-pollinating but should be planted with another black currant variety for best pollination, Zone: 3-8.

 

Delindmoi - H: 3-5ft, W: 3-5ft, Sun: Part to full, Fruit: Black berries that are aromatic and juicy. Fruit ripens in July and is good dehydrating/drying. Note: A new variety from France through Northwoods Nursery. Variety is resistant to powdery mildew and self-fertile. Zone: 3-8. 

 

Kantata 50 - H: 3-5ft, W: 3-5ft, Sun: Part to full, Fruit: Large black berries that are sweet with low acid but traditional black currant flavor. Fruit ripens in July and good for eating fresh. Note: A variety from the former Soviet Union and introduced from the Germplasm Repository in Corvalis, OR. The variety is self-fertile. Zone: 3-8. 

 

Lentaj - H: 3-5ft, W: 3-5ft, Sun: Part to full, Fruit: Jet black fruit that are sweet but mildly tart too. Fruit ripens in July and good for fresh eating. Note: Another variety brought to the United States from the former Soviet Union. The variety is self-fertile. Zone: 3-8. 

 

Lewis R - H: 3-6ft, W: 3-6ft, Sun: Part to full, Fruit: Black berries that ripen in July. Note: An introduction by Elmore Roots. Partially self-pollinating but should be planted with another black currant variety for best pollination, Zone: 3-8.

 

Minaj Smyriou - H: 3-5ft, W: 3-5ft, Sun: Part to full, Fruit: A mild flavor black currant that ripen in July. Note: Resistant to white blister rust and mildew. Needs heavy pruning! Developed in Bulgaria. Self-pollinating but should be planted with another black currant variety for best pollination, Zone: 3-8. 

 

Prince Consort - H: 4-5ft, W: 3-6ft, Sun: Part to full, Fruit: Medium size tart fruit that ripen in July. Note: Developed in Ottawa, Canada. Partially self-pollinating but should be planted with another black currant variety for best pollination, Zone: 3-7.

 

Siltsa - H: 3-5ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Fruit: Sweet large berries that ripen in July. Note: Earliest black currant to ripen and developed in Holland. Partially self-pollinating but should be planted with another black currant variety for best pollination, Zone: 3-8. 

 

Swedish Black - H: 3-5ft, W: 3-5ft, Sun: Part to full, Fruit: Black fruit that ripens in July before most black currant cultivars. Fruit is good for eating fresh and dehydrating/drying. Note: Self-fertile variety. Zone: 3-8. 

 

Titania -H: 3-6ft, W: 4ft, Sun: Full, Fruit: Firm, mild flavored berries that ripen all at once in July, Note: Resistant to white pine blister rust. Partially self-pollinating but should be planted with another black currant variety for best pollination, Zone: 3-7.

 

Shipping and delivery of potted plants is unavailable. Pick up of potted plants available on farm or at farmers' market after May 15th.
