These are the varieties of dill which we will be offering in 3.5/4.5 inch pots:

 

Ambrosia - H: N/A, W: N/A, Sun: Full, Zone: 9-11, Descriptions: Finer feathery green leaves and flat umbels of yellow flowers. Uses: The leaves of this variety are used for fresh and dried production.Note: A popular Polish variety that is slow to bolt, very productive, disease resistant, drought resistant, and tolerant of cooler weather. Also, plants are annuals in this zone but will reseed themselves. 

 

Bouquet - H: 3-4 ft, W: 2-3 ft, Sun: Full, Zone: 9-11, Description: Fine feathery green leaves and flat umbels of yellow flowers. Uses: Leaves (dill weed) can be used to flavor cheeses, dips, fish, soups, and stews.  Note: Annual and caterpillars of Swallowtail Butterflies feed on the foliage. 

 

Compatto - H: 18 inches, W: N/A, Sun: Full, Zone: 9-11, Description: Fine feathery green leaves and flat umbels of yellow flowers. Uses: Leaves and seeds are good for cooking. Seeds have a higher essential oil content than other varieties and have a more robust flavor for use in recipes that call for the seeds. Note: These compact plants are good for container gardeners. Also, plants are annuals in this zone but will reseed themselves if left to go to seed. 

 

Dukat Strain - H: 3-4 ft, W: 1-2 ft, Sun: Full, Zone: 9-11, Description: Very green feathery leaves plants with flat umbels of yellow flowers. Uses: Leaves and seeds can be used in cooking and seasongins. Note: This variety is prized for its abundant leaf production. The seeds and leaves have a higher content of essential oil and stronger flavor than most dill varieties. Also, plants are annuals in this zone but will reseed themselves if allowed to go to seed. 

 

Emerald - H: N/A, W: N/A, Sun: Full, Zone: 9-11, Description: Green feathery leaved plants with flat umbels of yellow flowers. Uses: Leaves are good for drying, freezing and pickles. Note: This is a commercial Polish variety which is favored for its color and fragrance. It is a variety that is slow to bolt and tends to be tolerant of wet and dry weather better than other varieties. Also, plants are annuals in this zone but will reseed themselves if allowed to go to seed. 

 

Greensleeves - H: 1-2 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Full, Zone: 9-11, Description: Fine feathery green leaves and flat umbels of yellow flowers. Uses: Primarily grown for leaf production. The Leaves are sweet and have a good dill fragrance. Note: This is a compact variety which is good for container gardens and also slow to bolt. Plants are annual in this climate as well. 

 

Mammoth - H: 3 ft, W: 1-2 ft, Sun: Full, Zone: 9-11, Description: Fine feathery green leaves and flat umbels of yellow flowers. Uses: Primarily grown for its seeds which are used in pickling. Note: This plant is an annual in our zone but will reseed itself if left to go to seed. 


Thalia - H: 14-16 inches, W: 12-16 inches, Zone: 9-11, Descriptions: FIne feathery green, blue leaves and flat umbels of yellow flowers. Uses: Leaves are good for fresh eating. Note: This is a compact variety that is slow to bolt and good for container gardens. Also, plants are annuals in this climate but will reseed themselves if left to go to seed.

 

Plants are available for pickup and shipping between May 31st and October 31st.
