These are the types of mints which we offer in 3.5/4.5 inch pots:

 

Apple (Mentha suaveolens)  - H: 1-2 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 5-9, Description: Erect plant with light green fuzzy leaves with a slight apple flavor and light lavender color flowers that attract lots of pollinators. Uses: Leaves can be used to season drinks, fruit, jellies, meat, poultry, and sauces. Tea can be made from the leaves. Also, scent repels mice and rats both inside and outside. Note: Disease resistant and can easily overrun a garden if left unchecked. 

 

Basil (Mentha × piperita) – H: 2 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 3-9, Description: Upright plant with dark green shiny leaves and purple flowers, Uses: Leaves can be used in cocktails, salads, sauces, and tea. Note: This variety is a hybrid of peppermint and watermint. Note: Plants can easily overrun a garden if left unchecked. 

 

Chocolate (Mentha x piperita) - H: 3 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 5-10, Description: Narrow leaf plant with light lavender flowers. The whole plant smells like chocolate peppermint patties. Uses: Leaves can be used in bread, cake, chutneys, drinks, ice cream, jellies, salad dressing, sauces, and soups. Note: Perennial and deer resistant. Can easily overrun a garden if left unchecked. 

 

Curly (Mentha spicata var. crispa) - H: 1-2 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 5-10, Description: Erect curly/crinkly leaf variety of spearmint with light purple flowers. Use: Used in Middle Eastern cuisine as well as with fish, meats, and vegetables like peas. Good for drinks, desserts, and teas. Note: Perennial and deer resistant. Can overrun a garden if left unchecked. 

 

Grapefruit  (Mentha aquatica citrata) – H: 1-2ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 5-9, Description: Upright plant with dark green leaves that have a scent of grapefruit when crushed, Uses: Cocktails and tea. Note: Deer and rabbit resistant. 

 

Hillary's Lemon (Mentha dulcia citreus) - H: 1-2 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 5-9, Description: Low growing mint with green fuzzy leaves that have a citrus flavor and scent as well as light purple flowers. Uses: Leaves can be used to flavor cold and hot beverages. Note: Perennial, deer resistant, and will overtake a garden if left unchecked. 

 

Kentucky Colonel (Mentha spicata) - H: 1-3 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 3-7, Description: Erect green-leaved spearmint with light purple flowers. Excellent flavor and good for culinary use. Uses: Best mint for Mint Juleps. Can also be used in recipes the same as spearmint. Note: Perennial, deer resistant, and will overtake a garden if left unchecked. 

 

Jessica’s Sweet Pear (Mentha spp.) – H: 1-2ft, W: 2ft, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 5, Description: Upright plant with shiny green leaves that have a pear scent when crushed, Uses: Leave can be used in cocktails, desserts and tea. 

 

Mojito (Mentha x villosa)  - H: 1-3 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 3-7, Description: Erect green leaf, purple stemmed spearmint. Uses: Used primarily for Mojito drinks, but can also be used for jelly, marinade, and tea. Pairs well with other herbs like rosemary and sage for seasoning. Note: Perennial, deer resistant, and will overtake a garden if left unchecked. 

 

Mountain (Pycnanthemum muticum) - H: 3-4 ft, W: 2-3 ft, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 6-8, Description: Tall, light green, smooth leaves. Uses: Fresh or dried leaves make a strong mint flavored tea. Strong smell of plants can be used to help repel insects and mammals. Note: Native to North America and perennial. 

 

Orange (Mentha piperita citrata) - H: 1-2 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 4-9, Description: Upright, round, dark green leaves with orange smell and flavor as well as purple flowers. Uses: Leaves have the best flavor when used fresh. Leaves can be used in dressings, fruit punch, jellies, sauces and vinegars. Also, leaves are good in chocolate desserts, cocktails, lemonades, and teas. Note: Perennial, deer resistant, and will overtake a garden if left unchecked. 

 

Peppermint (Mentha ×piperita) - H: 2-3 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 3-9, Description: Upright, dark green leaves, narrow leaves with the traditional peppermint scent and flavor. Use: Leaves are good for tea as well as mint water, gums, and desserts. Note: Very hardy perennial, deer resistant, and will overtake a garden if left unchecked. 

 

Pineapple (Mentha suaveolens) - H: 1-2 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 4-10, Description: Erect plant with green and white variegated leaves that have the scent of pineapples. Uses: Leaves are good for garnishing Caribbean or Polynesian dishes. Leaves can also be used in cocktails, frozen desserts, and tea. Note: Perennial, deer resistant, and will overtake a garden if left unchecked. 

 

Spearmint (Mentha spicata) - H: 1-2 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 5-9, Description: Erect plant with green, narrow leaves with the distinct spearmint scent and light purple flowers. Uses: Leaves can be used to season fish, fruit, grains, legumes, meat, vegetables, and more. Fresh and dried leaves are also good for making tea. Note: Perennial, deer resistant, and will overtake a garden if left unchecked. 

 

Strawberry (Mentha spicata) - H: 1-2 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 4-9, Description: Erect plant with delicate, small, narrow, green leaves that have a sweet and strawberry scent. Uses: Leaves are good for fruit salads and tea. Note: Perennial, deer resistant, and will overtake a garden if left unchecked. 

 

Sweet (Mentha x suavis) - H: 1-2 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 5-11, Description: Erect plant with long, narrow green leaves that have the traditional spearmint flavor but also sweetness. Uses: Leaves are good for beverages such as tea as well as desserts, jelly, garnish, and salads. Note: Perennial, deer resistant, and will overtake a garden if left unchecked. 

 

Woolly Wild Spearmint (Mentha spicata) - H: 1-2 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 5, Description: Erect plant with light green, narrow fuzzy leaves and stems that smells and tastes like spearmint. Uses: Can be used in teas. Note: Found growing wild by the Ort Family on their farm in Bradford, NY. Perennial, disease resistant, and will overtake a garden if left unchecked. Pot size: 3.4-4.5 inch.
