These are the types or oregano which we offer in 3.5/4.5 inch pots:

 

Compactum (Origanum vulgare) - H: 6 inches, W: N/A, Sun: Full, Zone: 5-9, Description: Short bushy plant with oval gray/green leaves that are intense and spicy. Also, have tiny pink flowers. Uses: Leaves can be used to season beef, breads, cheese, eggs, poultry, pork, shellfish, and vegetables. Also, leaves can be used for teas. Note: Perennial and good for containers. Pot size: 3.5/4.5 inch. Sold out for 2023.

 

Cuban (Coleus amboinicus) – H: 1-3ft, W: 2-3ft, Sun: Part to full, Zone: 10-11, Description: It is a plant with fuzzy light green leaves that have a strong camphor scent when leaves are crushed. Uses: The leaves can be used dried or fresh to season meats like beef, lamb and poultry. Also, leaves can be used to season marinades and stuffings. Note: Plant can be grown as houseplants and do well in containers.

 

Greek (Origanum vulgare subsp. hirtum) - H: 1 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Full, Zone: 5-9, Description: Fuzzy, gray/green, narrow leaves that have robust oregano flavor and fragrance as well as white flowers. Uses: Used primarily in Greek cooking, but also with beef, breads, cheese, eggs, poultry, pork, shellfish, and vegetables. The flavor becomes more aggressive and pungent when the leaves are dried. Leaves can be made into a tea that can help treat coughs and indigestion. Note: Perennial. 

 

Hot and Spicy (Origanum vulgare) - H: 1-2 ft, W: 1-2 ft, Sun: Full, Zone: 6-9, Description: Erect plants that mound with round fuzzy green leaves and pink flowers. Uses; Leaves can be dried, frozen, or used fresh in a variety of dishes where a peppery and spicy oregano taste is needed. Note: Heat and drought tolerant. 

 

Italian (Origanum vulgare)  - H: 1-2 ft, W: N/A, Sun: Full, Zone: 4-9, Description: Narrow gray/green leaves that have a sweet and bold oregano flavor. Pink/purple flowers. Uses: Leaves are used both dried and fresh in Italian cooking. Good for use with cheeses, meats, tomato sauces, and vegetables. Note: Perennial. 

 

Mexican (Lippia graveolens) - H: 2-3ft, W: N/A, Sun: Full, Zone: 10-11, Descriptions: Tall upright plant with fuzzy green leaves with a citrus flavor. Uses: Fresh branches and leaves can be used to flavor grilled food. Leaves can also be used for tea. Note: Plant native to Mexico and can be grown in containers.
